Are you ready to make a difference? Join the Nation of Lifesavers by learning Hands-Only CPR at our second CPR Community Day! The American Heart Association and the Innovation Partnership between Albany County and MVP Health Care are bringing the community together to learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR in one exciting day! This informative and engaging Hands-Only CPR Training is designed for individuals of all skill levels! This essential training is perfect for anyone looking to learn how to save a life in an emergency situation. 350,000 people in the U.S. experience sudden cardiac arrest in the community each year. 90% of those people die. 70% of cardiac arrests that do not happen in the hospital, occur in homes and private residences. CPR, if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim's chance of survival.
During this interactive session, participants will:
Learn the Basics: Understand the critical steps of Hands-Only CPR, including how to recognize cardiac arrest and the importance of acting quickly. Hands-On Practice: Gain practical experience with hands-on practice on CPR manikins, ensuring you feel confident in your ability to perform CPR when it matters most. Expert Guidance: Our certified instructors will guide you through the process, providing tips and answering any questions you may have. Emergency Preparedness: Discover additional resources and information on how to respond effectively in emergencies, including the use of AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators). This training is designed to empower you with the knowledge and skills needed to respond confidently in a cardiac emergency. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided. Who Should Attend: This event is for everyone including those who coach youth sports programs where CPR training could save a life. Cost: Free Don’t miss this opportunity to learn a skill that could save a life! Register now to secure your spot and become a vital part of your community’s emergency response team.
For adults and adolescent children, Hands-Only CPR is an easy-to-learn skill that requires only two steps: call 9-1-1 emergency services and push hard and fast in the center of the chest at a rate of 100-120 beats per minute.
The training is for Hands-Only CPR. It is NOT a certification course. For information about becoming certified in CPR, visit cpr.heart.org.
